Utsunomiya closes schools after bear sighting

Utsunomiya city has closed all 94 primary and secondary schools after a black bear was sighted, marking the first occurrence of such an event near Tokyo. The bear, approximately one metre long, was first spotted near a park on Saturday and later captured on CCTV in the city centre early Sunday morning.
