Melbourne train commuters can use smartphones, but not for trams or buses

Commuters using Melbourne's train network can now use their smartphones to travel, eliminating the need for myki cards. However, those on trams and buses must still carry a physical card, and myki passes are not compatible with the new system. The change takes effect immediately.
