Lost Seventh-Century Poem Discovered in Rome Library

Scholars from Trinity College Dublin have discovered a lost manuscript of Caedmon’s Hymn, the earliest surviving poem in the English language, at the National Central Library of Rome. This seventh-century poem, composed by a Northumbrian cattle herder, is over 1,200 years old.
