Bilby numbers near 2,000 in Mallee Cliffs reintroduction success
Efforts to reintroduce bilbies to Mallee Cliffs National Park are proving successful, with numbers rising to nearly 2,000 since the first breeding trial began in 2019. Fifty 'founder' bilbies were released, including 30 from Thistle Island, aiming to establish a wild population for the first time in a century.
